GARY has studied long form improvisation at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since 2008 with several teachers including Anthony Atamanuik, Gavin Speiller and Neil Casey as well as with former UCBT artistic director Anthony King and founder, Matt Besser. Outside of UCB he has been trained and coached by Rebecca Drysdale (Second City, Baby Wants Candy), Kevin Mullaney (iO Chicago, UCBT) and Will Storie (UCBT). In addition to improv, Gary has completed the storytelling program at UCBT with Margot Leitman (Stripped Stories).
He has performed improv at the Del Close Marathon, the Boston Improv Festival, the Providence Improv Festival and is a founding member of the improv troupe, The Garys. A graduate of Syracuse University, Gary earned his undergraduate degree from the Whitman School of Management while studying at the School of Visual and Performing Arts. He has studied extensively at Caymichael Patten Studios where he focused primarily on scene study, sensory and relaxation exercises and Meisner technique.
Gary is an elite triathlete and marathon runner (having completed his third marathon in Boston on 4/18/11 in 2:45:45) and enjoys coaching runners in his spare time. He is originally from Rhode Island but, despite what you’re thinking, he probably doesn’t know that “friend of yours” who is also from RI.
