Our Team
The Garys are a team of seven New York City-based long-form improvisers – formed in 2009 as students at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York. Collectively, members have studied improv, sketch, storytelling, character work and theater at UCB, The Magnet (NYC), Second City (Chicago), BMI, and with teachers from iO Theatre (Chicago). We have performed at venues all over NYC (Magnet, PIT, UCB) as well as at the Boston Improv Festival, the Providence Improv Festival, the UCB Del Close Marathon, the NYC Improv Festival and the Chicago Improv Festival, amongst others.
We’ve produced and hosted our own comedy show since 2010, a 75 minute show consisting of storytelling, stand-up and long-form improvisation. We have also produced and hosted The Garathon, an annual elimination-style, sixteen-team improv tournament – performed at The Tank Theater in New York City.

11th Annual Providence Improv Festival in Rhode Island. 2014 marks our fifth, consecutive year performing at this festival and we would like to thank Providence for being such a great audience!
